AN ADAPTIVE WAVELET SOLUTION TO GENERALIZED STOKES PROBLEM
In this paper we will present an adaptive wavelet scheme to solvethe generalized Stokes problem. Using divergence free wavelets, theproblem is transformed into an equivalent matrix vector system, thatleads to a positive definite system of reduced size for thevelocity. This system is solved iteratively, where the applicationof the infinite stiffness matrix, that is sufficiently compressible,is r...
متن کاملAn Investigation of Stokes’ Second Problem for Non-newtonian Fluids
Stokes flow produced by an oscillatory motion of a wall is analyzed in the presence of a nonNewtonian fluid. A total of eight non-Newtonian models are considered. A mass balance approach is introduced to solve the governing equations. The velocity and temperature profiles for these models are obtained and compared to those of Newtonian fluids. For the power law model, correlations for the veloc...
متن کاملRegularity of Solution to Generalized Stokes Problem
Presented work deals with the interior regularity of solution to generalized Stokes problem. For this purpose the method of difference quotients is used. Some results from my diploma thesis are needed and will be sumarized in the first section. The second section contains the proof of the main theorem. Introduction For given datas Ω ⊂ Rd, A : Ω 7→ Rd2×d2 , B : Ω 7→ Rd2 , f : Ω 7→ Rd and g : Ω 7...
متن کاملReproducing Kernel Space Hilbert Method for Solving Generalized Burgers Equation
In this paper, we present a new method for solving Reproducing Kernel Space (RKS) theory, and iterative algorithm for solving Generalized Burgers Equation (GBE) is presented. The analytical solution is shown in a series in a RKS, and the approximate solution u(x,t) is constructed by truncating the series. The convergence of u(x,t) to the analytical solution is also proved.
متن کاملLocal projection finite element stabilization for the generalized Stokes problem
We analyze pressure stabilized finite element methods for the solution of the generalized Stokes problem and investigate their stability and convergence properties. An important feature of the method is that the pressure gradient unknowns can be eliminated locally thus leading to a decoupled system of equations. Although stability of the method has been established, for the homogeneous Stokes e...
